Nice relaxing river isolated section with virtually no obstacles and gentle current.
Slow current, flanked mostly by uninhabited swampland.
Starting at the outfall of Walloon Lake, the upper Bear River is a calm pristine float. The river begins with a medium current and some small obstructions to navigate around. The water is very clean and clear in this section, prior to being darkened by soil conditions downstream of Springvale Road. Virtually no development along this stretch, and there are not many places to go to land, but lots of very shallow sandy slow current areas to get out and play in the water. An easy current for the beginner kayaker.
