Bicycling around Glen Arbor is a pleasant cottage style downtown and art-filled ride. For a longer journey, head Easterly from town, crossing the Crystal River and circling back through winding wooded roadways, or choose to connect in with the Sleeping Bear Dunes Trail for a longer ride to the Dune Climb.
Bicycling in Frankfort presents beautiful architectural neighborhoods on the North side of town, and the Lake Michigan park with huge sandy beaches. Get on the Betsie Valley Trail, skirting Betsie Lake toward Elberta, to take in more of a waterfront experience.
Empire is the anchor for the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and offers good Northern Michigan biking in the small community. Pedal around the neighborhoods on the South side of town, then through downtown, ultimately heading toward the Lake Michigan shoreline and waterfront park.
Bicycling around Beulah begins at the Betsie Valley Trail parking area. The trail runs along the shoreline of beautiful Crystal Lake, and the roadways to the North offer additional views of the shoreline. Lake Street is one-way Northbound for cars.
