Enjoy the scenery and winery. The Leelanau Trail is relatively flat, but the roadways to the wineries are not. What goes down, must come up – when it comes to bicycling.
Traverse City is the Northern Michigan mecha for bicycling. Opportunities on two wheels range from the TART Trail along the waterfront, historical architectural neighborhoods, bike routes, and the Boardman Lake Trail. Without leaving the city, miles and miles of wonderful riding can be reached. Whether a novice biker, or an experienced cyclist, the variety of bicycling is endless.
Suttons Bay bicycling is a Leelanau Peninsula hotspot, situated at the North end of the Leelanau Trail. Depart on the trail to the South, or stay within the city and bicycle the side roads of the residential neighborhoods. To the East of downtown, the roadway fronts along Lake Michigan and West Grand Traverse Bay.
